Installation of AC drives

1.    Ambient temperature

Generally suitable for working in the environment of -10℃~40℃, humidity is lower than 90%. If the ambient temperature is higher than 40℃, the inverter should be derated by 5% for every 1℃ increase.

2.    General requirements for the installation site

1) No corrosion, no flammable and explosive gas, liquid

2) No dust, floating fiber and metal particles.

3) The foundation and wall of the installation site should be solid and free of damage and vibration.

4) Avoid direct sunlight

5) No electromagnetic interference

3.    AC drive installation space and ventilation

A cooling fan is installed inside the AC drive as force air cooling. In order to achieve a good cooling cycle, the inverter must be installed vertically. When multiple inverters are installed in the one control box, it is recommended to install them side by side in order to reduce mutual thermal influence.

4.    Removal of the inverter cover

During installation, the inverter needs to be tested, inspected, and connected, which requires its cover to be removed. Pay attention to the characteristics of different inverters and install according to their requirements.

 5.    Wiring of the AC drive

1) Whether the wiring is wrong

2) Whether the scraps of the wires, especially the metal scraps, steel breaks, screws and nuts, have fallen inside the AC drive

3) Whether the screw is tightened and the wires are loose

4) Whether the exposed part of the wiring terminal touches the other terminals and whether it touches the inverter case.
6.    Precautions for control circuit wiring

1) The wiring of the control circuit and the main circuit should be routed separately from other power lines and power lines, and keeps a certain distance.

2) The lead wires of the relay contact terminals in the inverter control circuit should be routed separately from the other control circuit terminals to avoid interference signals when the contacts are ON/OFF operated.

3) In order to prevent interference caused by noise and other signals and cause the inverter to malfunction, the control circuit should use shielded wires.
